You can customize how judges and spectators interact with your screens in the Class Library > Class setup area. When you edit a class, you'll see options on the right which allow you to do this.
Judging View
By clicking the "Change" link under "Judging View" on the right, you'll see three judge screen options you can employ for the selected class.
- The Single Standard option is the simplest layout for classes that have multiple judging factors, but a single standard for each judging factor. For example, your class might have judging factors for a)accuracy, b) presentation and c) audience appeal. The standard for each, let's say, is "execution" and the scale for that is 1-10. With this kind of setup, the judge merely slides the execution slider for each judging factor and then commits the score. This method is great for car shows, boat shows or science fairs where the entries are judged (vs the performance of the contestant).
- The Multi-Standard option allows you to create multiple judging factors with multiple standards. For example, in a flying skills competition, it's possible that the contestant must perform a series of maneuvers like a) takeoff and hover, b) climb out and circle and c) approach and land. Further, let's say the standards for each maneuver are, a)speed, b)accuracy and c)scale appearance. In this scenario, the judge will see a SINGLE screen for each judging factor and on each screen MULTIPLE sliders, one for each standard. The judge can advance through the judging factors by tapping the judging factor buttons at the bottom of the screen.
- The Heads-Up Tap option is great for judging multi-factor, multi-standard classes that require the judge to keep their eye on the action while decrementing the contestant's score for mistakes. Each tappable standard disk starts at the maximum of the scale (e.g. 10 when using a 1-10 scale) and decrements on each tap by the increment set in the standards area. This option would work well in a flying or snowboarding competition, for example.
Scoring Display
The scoring display layout selector will allow you to customize how spectators and judges see your list of competitors or entries. One view is contestant-centric, meaning the individual entrant's name will prominently display on the tile with that individual's entry shown below. The entry-centric display, on the other hand, will highlight the entry's title with the contestant's name below (unless you check the "replace name" box below the example.
