Where it Starts
The Competition Library stores reusable competition class setups that you can include in any event you create.
In the left menu, you'll see the Class Library, Judging Factors and Scoring Standards menu items. The class library area lets you create an unlimited number of competition classes. The judging factor library area lets you create reusable judging factors that can be assigned to any class. The Scoring Standards area lets you manage the standards by which judging factors are evaluated (e.g. 1-10, 1-100, etc.).The screen below shows the class library with several classes, each with their own competition judging factors.
Class Concept
Here is how classes and judging factors fit together. Let's say that you create a class called "Precision Hover" for a model helicopter competition. Those who enter this class must perform a series of mandatory and optional (freestyle) maneuvers. The screen below shows that you've assigned FIVE judging factors to the class and given
proportional weighting to each judging factor. In our example, Takeoff & Hover carries a lower weighting than "Hover Rotations" because the event host considers Hover Rotations to be more important than the other judging factors, relatively speaking.

Setup Elements First
This is the Elements Library. Notice that "Chassis & Undercarriage" is highlighted and its attributes are on the right. Each judging factor has a few attributes:
- Nature: Is the judging factor mandatory or freestyle/optional? If it's mandatory, the event host specifies the nature of the judging factor. If it's freestyle, the contestant will be able to enter their own description (and optional diagram) through the mobile interface.
- Element Name: Simply the name of this competition judging factor.
- Description: For mandatory judging factors only.
- Diagram: This optional image can illustrate the judging factorss if you want.
- Scoring Standards: These are the standards that will apply to your selected judging factor. Scoring standards are at the heart of the software. See more below.
Scoring Standards
Clicking the edit pencil beside "Assigned Scoring Standards" will reveal your list of standards that you use from event to event. These, like classes and judging factors, are part of your reusable library of building blocks.
Adding or changing a scoring standard is simple. Enter the name, minimum score, maximum score and scoring increment values and you are good to go. Simply check the standards you want to include in the judging factor you are configuring.
IMPORTANT: We recommend assigning the same standards to each judging factor you intend to include in your class. It makes for more consistent scoring.
To appreciate how all of these things work in concert, look at how judges enter scores.
